How To Make Your Dark Eyebrows Lighter With Makeup

Tempted past Georgia May Jagger's bleached blonde brows from fashion calendar week, but dually paranoid aboutactually dying them afterward Kendall Jenner's horror stories, I had go determined to *simulated* the experimental expect. I mean, that's what makeup's for, correct?

Simply considering this is non the kind of look I trust myself with on the first endeavour—I have extremely dark brows to begin with—I asked MAC Senior artist Keri Blair to work her magic. And lo and behold, she did so in 3 like shooting fish in a barrel steps that are 100% doable, even for beginners. I promise.

Grab your spoolie and take notes:

Step ane: Brush Concealer Into the Brows

Using a spoolie or a tooth brush, accept a color correcting concealer and brush information technology through the hair going against the grain (the opposite mode the hair lays). Be sure to get-go at the base of the brow towards the outer corner of the eye and work your style inward so that you are covering the brows backwards, getting the undersides of the hair. So, brush the brow pilus in the other management of how you'd ordinarily rummage them.

As far as choosing the right colour concealer, it depends on the natural shade of your brows and how intense they are. "The important matter to remember is intensity, then the intensity of your concealer has to be the same intensity level of your eyebrows," explains Blair. "If it's non, it looks besides gray."

For my brows, Blair used MAC'south Studio Pro Conceal and Correct Palette in Light, mixing peach and xanthous tones to get the right shade to brand my brow looks like they're blending in with my complexion.

Stride 2: Add Another, Peachier Layer

Once y'all've got your base, you'll demand to add together another layer of colour correction, only this fourth dimension with even more peachier tones to cancel out the darkness further.

Pro Tip: If your brows are significantly lighter in colour or thinner naturally, y'all might exist able to skip the initial layer of product and just use this side by side warmer, peachier colored concealer solo—just brand sure to do the same brushing-backward-and then-frontwards footstep to ensure full coverage.

Footstep iii: Set with a Translucent Pulverization

Using a setting brush, terminate your brows with translucent setting powder in and effectually your arches. If your brows are dark, you tin can mix in a niggling bit of peach color-correcting powder.

"If you're taking photographs and you really want the brows to disappear, you can use reflective paint," explains Blair. "And then when the lite or the flash hits information technology from the camera, information technology will blur the light and requite the illusion the brow is more disappearing than information technology bodily is."

Add a Statement Eye

"The swell part about taking the brows downward is that you have a little more to play with around the middle," she says. "You tin can go smoky or if you'd merely like a cat eye, utilise it as your normally would on top and bump things upward a flake with liner on the water lines besides."

And and so she gave me both smoky navy lidsanda cat eye. See the latter in the video beneath:
